Does it make everyday living meaningfully easier?
KANSO APPROVED
Fewer products. Better choices.
Kanso Approved is not a shopping list. It is a transparent standard for deciding when a product genuinely earns a place in the home.
THE PRINCIPLE
Recommend like a close friend.
Approved means a product has passed KANSO’s seven-part review for practicality, function, simplicity, durability, timelessness, fair value, and brand fit. It is reserved for products we can explain clearly, including the problem they solve, the tradeoffs they bring, and the situations where buying nothing may still be the better choice.
“If we wouldn’t recommend it to our closest friend, it will never become Kanso Approved.”
THE 35-POINT STANDARD
Seven criteria. Five points each.
Every product is evaluated across seven dimensions. The maximum is 35 points—but a strong total never excuses a weak category. Kanso Approved should feel balanced, not merely high-scoring.
Seven criteria, each scored from 1 to 5.
Approval is not based on the total alone.
Does it perform its intended job clearly and easily?
Is the design free from unnecessary complexity or excess?
Does the quality support continued everyday use?
Will it remain useful beyond a short-lived trend?
Is the price reasonable for its function, quality, and durability?
Does it support calmer, simpler, more intentional living?
REVIEW CONFIDENCE
A score is only as good as the evidence behind it.
Product scores are paired with a confidence check. We look for specific reviews, repeated themes in lower ratings, manufacturer specifications, seller reliability, and corroborating evidence where available.
Specific reviews
Do reviews describe real use rather than vague praise?
Repeated problems
Do lower ratings reveal a consistent weakness?
Specifications
Do dimensions, materials, and intended use match the claim?
Seller confidence
Is the seller condition appropriate at the time of recommendation?
WHAT A PRODUCT REVIEW SHOULD SHOW
Not just why to buy it.
Every future Kanso Approved review is designed to answer the questions that matter before a purchase—not just present a product card.
The problem it solves
What daily friction is this product actually meant to remove?
Why Kanso considered it
Which of the seven criteria does it handle especially well?
Tradeoffs
What limitations, compromises, or recurring complaints should be understood first?
Who it may suit
What kind of home, routine, or storage problem is it best matched to?
Who may not need it
When could rearranging, reducing, or reusing what you own be enough?
The final Kanso score
A transparent criterion-by-criterion score, not a decorative badge.

WATCHLIST
YouCopia MagicTrack Rectangle Turntable · 33 / 35
Promising design and strong current demand, but the smaller review sample keeps Review Confidence at Medium for now. Kanso will reassess as evidence grows.
TRANSPARENCY
Affiliate links never change the standard.
Some future product links may be affiliate links. When they are used, the relationship will be disclosed clearly near the link, and Kanso will maintain a permanent affiliate disclosure.

We recommend slowly.
A useful product can support a better system. It cannot replace one. Kanso starts with the space, the routine, and the problem before recommending anything new.
